Port Blair, March 21: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma in his letter to the Secretary (Power), A&N Administration requested him to make necessary arrangements to depute an Electrical Engineer for maintaining street lights and other electrical works of two Gram Panchayats namely Hut Bay and Netaji Nagar in Little Andaman Tehsil. 

He said that an Electrical Engineer (JE) of Electricity Department then attached to Panchayat Samity, Hut Bay was looking after the works relating to electrical wings of both the Gram Panchayat i.e. Netaji Nagar and Hut Bay in Little Andaman.  However, on abolition of Panchayat  Samity, the posting of electrical JE was withdrawn and as a result, no JE is available with them to look after the electrical wings for maintaining streetlights and other electrical works of both the Gram Panchayats.
