Port Blair, April 13: The A & N Administration is putting its best effort to protect the Islanders and curtail the spread of the COVID-19 virus in A&N Islands. Addressing a press conference today in the conference hall of IP&T, the Secretary, IP&T, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh remarked that it is the collective responsibility of everyone to motivate the citizens aged 45 plus to come forward and get the vaccination at their nearest Vaccination Centres. Doctors from GB Pant Hospital viz. Dr. Munni Singhania, Deputy Director, Medical and Dr. Amitabha De, Deputy Director, Malaria were present during the press conference.

The Secretary said that carelessness, negligence & irresponsible behavior will put all in adverse situation. He called upon people to keep Corona in check while keeping our figures down. He also appealed to the beneficiaries in the age group of 45 plus to voluntarily come forward and get themselves vaccinated. This he said will not only safeguard their lives but ultimately protect their family members too.

Secretary urged the general public to follow all COVID- appropriate behavior for their safety and the safety of their family and the society as well. People should remain indoors if there is no urgent work, he said adding that people should minimize their visit to market places, stop unwanted movements and act as responsible citizens.
