Port Blair, April 19: A COVID Vaccination camp was set up at Khalsa Public Senior Secondary School by NGO Navodhaya Foundation today. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri.Suneel Anchipeka took the initiative to involve NGO's in reaching out to general public and create awareness about COVID Vaccination.

Navodhaya was tasked to conduct the camp one day prior and within a short notice the NGO, under the leadership of its director Smt. Protima Banerjee managed to organise the vaccination camp and achieved the target set up by the District Administration.

The Principal of Khalsa Public Senior Secondary School, Dr. S.K. Jagpal readily provided the school premises for the vaccination camp and the drive was supported by all staffs of Khalsa Public Senior Secondary School.

People from all walks of life got vaccinated in the camp. Due to proper arrangements following all COVID protocols, vaccination was a smooth task both for public as well as the paramedical staff where around 130 citizens above the 45 yrs were provided COVID19 Vaccination.

Light refreshment was arranged for all those who got vaccinated and lunch was arranged for the volunteers and paramedics in association with IMFC & Desi Lounge.

Social Worker Shri. Abdul Rasheed popularity known as Ration Rasheed provided free transportation upto the vaccination center and also conducted extensive campaign to create awareness about vaccination among general public.

DC, SA Shri. Suneel Anchipeka visited the camp expressed his gratitude towards Navodhaya & Khalsa Public School for the initiative. SDM, South Andaman Shri. Hari Kalikat also inspected the camp and congratulated team Navodhaya for their effort & dedication towards the society.

Post Vaccination Drive, the entire school premises was sanitized by JK Pest Management as a COVID-19 precautionary measure.
