Guru Ki Rasoi Arranges for Iftar

Port Blair, April 20: As part of the initiative of the District Administration to get people above the age group of 45 vaccinated, a special COVID vaccination camp was organised at Community Hall, Malappuram in the presence of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA), Shri Hari Kallikkat, SDM (SA) and Ms. B. Yashaswini, AC (U/T).   

The camp held in the holy month of Ramzan had a huge response from all walks of the society. The drive was successfully held with the cooperation of the staffs of the PHC Wimberlygunj led by Dr. Ankita Benerjee. As part of the camp, Iftar was also arranged for the gathering by the NGO Guru Ki Rasoi undertaking all COVID protocols.   

The camp was also supported by the Ex-PRIs members and local populace and appreciated the efforts made by the District Administration in ensuring vaccination of people living in far flung areas of the islands.

The DC(SA) appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the general public in getting themselves vaccinated and also requested them to support the Administration in spreading awareness among the 45+ aged near & dear ones to take Covid vaccine to restrain the spread of COVID-19. He further reiterated that the five-fold strategy of Testing, Tracing, Treatment, COVID appropriate behaviour and vaccination will be meticulously implemented in South Andaman District.
