Port Blair, April 23: Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust, A&N Islands organised a vaccination drive at Fisheries Hall, Fish Landing Centre, Junglighat on 22/04/2021 from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs in collaboration with District Administration, South Andaman with support of  Shri. B. Nagendra, District Programme Manager, DHS (SA)-NHM and their team members and volunteers of respective area.

During vaccination drive, Shri. Hari Kallikkat, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman and Miss. B. Yashaswini, IAS, Probationer AC (UT) visited the camp and interacted with people who were vaccinated in the camp. Meanwhile Shri. Utpal Kumar Sar, Director of Fisheries, A&NI and along with his staff visited COVID-19 vaccination centre. Dr. K. Gopal, Joint Director of Fisheries and his Staff were also vaccinated by medical staff in the camp.

The setting up of the vaccination centre was great relief for old age people who had difficulty in travelling to far off places for vaccination purposes. Around of 188 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered to the beneficiaries of the area.

Shri. Sambhu Murthy, Managing Trustee, Shri. P. Yogesh, President and Shri. K. Lokanadham, Secretary of Trust were present at the venue to monitor the vaccination process. The Trust also provided lunch and refreshment to staff of the Health Deptt. and other frontline workers involved in the vaccination drive.
