Port Blair, April 25: The committed effort of A&N Administration in administering COVID vaccines to beneficiaries in the age group of 45 years and above has yielded result. The vaccination drive has crossed the one lakh mark today (April 25). The health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries above 45+ of age who visit the centre on a daily basis. The vaccination sessions are continuing in more than 88 designated vaccination centres set up in different parts of the Islands towards the fight against Corona virus in A& Islands. Today, 1244 doses of vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams, taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 1,00,688.
The district wise figure administering of COVISHIELD doses to the eligible beneficiaries on April 25 by the Health Department states that in South Andaman 913 persons above 45+ were administered the vaccine, in North & Middle Andaman District 278 persons and in Nicobar District 53 were vaccinated, a press release from DHS said.
