Port Blair, May 21: The vaccination drive is being held in A&N Islands. About 281 people in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman today, 278 beneficiaries were vaccinated at N&M Andaman District while 51 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Car Nicobar. The online registration for the vaccination is done through CoWIN portal and Aarogya Setu App. Online registration is mandatory and no on-site registration will be done and people has been advised to reach the centres as per the time schedule provided to the beneficiaries through the App. The vaccination is being done at JNRM Vaccination Centre between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. The general public have been requested to follow Covid appropriate behavior while going for vaccination.
Meanwhile, the vaccination for the beneficiaries of 45+ who are yet to receive their 1st Dose is also continuing and for them the facility of on-site registration will be available. The left over beneficiaries (45+) have been requested to get themselves vaccinated.
688 doses of COVISHIELD vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams today (May 21), taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 1, 19,542. The district wise figure administering of COVISHIELD doses to the eligible beneficiaries on May 20 by the Health Department states that in South Andaman, 347 persons above 18+ were administered the vaccine while in North & Middle Andaman District 290 persons and in Nicobar District, 51 were vaccinated.
