Port Blair, May 21: Shri. M. Vinod, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party has written a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Shri. Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India requesting them to provide anti COVID-19 drug 2-DG for Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Vinod expressed gratitude on behalf of the residents of Andaman & Nicobar Islands on successfully developing the anti COVID-19 drug 2-DG by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He mentioned that the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the medicine for emergency use and requested the dignitaries to send about 1000 doses of the drug to Andaman & Nicobar Islands considering the large number of oxygen dependency cases in the Islands.
