Port Blair, June 21: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has humbly requested the Hon’ble Prime Minister to provide 3.5 lakh doses of vaccines to A&N Islands and also 2DG medicines which will reduce oxygen dependency. The Andaman MP has also requested to send few specialists for starting Monoclonal Antibody treatment facilities in order to bring down the death rate of Covid patients to nil.

Kuldeep also pointed out the sudden surge in Covid-19 positive cases and advocated that better preparedness is the need of the hour for fighting Covid-19, considering the limited facilities in A&N Islands and the difficulties in bringing in more medicine and equipment in case of further outbreak of Covid.

He also pointed out that some states in mainland have not used their stock of vaccines and thus requested the Hon’ble Prime Minister to divert these stocks to A&N islands so that vaccine can be administered to all the islanders within a weeks’ time.

‘If these doses of vaccines are sent to A&N Islands, it will ensure that the A&N Islands will be the first territory in entire India to get fully vaccinated’, said the MP.
