I extend my warm greetings to all Doctors on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day. India celebrates National Doctors’ Day on 1st July each year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.
Since then, India has grown exponentially in the field of Medical Sciences with path-breaking innovations. This day serves to show gratitude to all those who have selflessly rendered their services at a time when the nation was tottering under a sustained onslaught of Corona Pandemic, imperiling their own safety and wellbeing. We have been truly recognizing the pivotal roles they had been playing during this period as health care providers. Now, on this occasion again, we acknowledge their enormous contribution when fear of death is knocking at every door butit is they who are dedicating themselves as a saviour to human race against all odds.Even when reports of violence against the doctors are trickling in, the selfless doctors are continuing their unflinching endeavours for saving other’s lives at the cost of their own.
I wish all the Doctors in general and those in Andaman & Nicobar Islands in particular to stay healthy and safe to serve humanity in the coming dayswith the same zeal and enthusiasm as they have performed with high sense of service throughout this deadly pandemic.
