Port Blair, July 1: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to extend permission for plying of Private buses in South Andaman area. There are about 200 driver, conductors and cleaners who earn their livelihood from this sector may also be considered by allowing operating the private buses.
He pinpointed the anguish encountered by the employees engaged in this sector on the present state of affairs and the difficulties faced by them mentally as well as financially. He has also highlighted that they don’t have any other source of income and due to the lockdown they are confined to their home and are running from pillar to post to meet ends meet.
The MP mentioned that the autos, cabs, trucks and other mode of transport have already been granted permission for movement. The private bus services is the only sector which has been deprived of this relaxation.
