Port Blair, July 22: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Kala Kendra – A&N Islands Society for Promotion of Art & Culture, A&N Administration is conducting various programmes to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence. In this series, a Photography Competition on the theme “Heritage through Lens” was organized in the month of April 2021 as part of these event.

Entries were invited from artists, professional photographers and art lovers through press release. In response 12 entries were received by the Kala Kendra Society. The competition was adjudged by a Committee constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Director (IP) comprising of representatives from Photo & Film Unit, IP&T as members.

Shri Jeevan bagged first position, Shri Sangram Kumar Naik bagged second position, whereas Ms Ena Tandon was adjudged third best. The winners will be suitably awarded. Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Govt. of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
