Port Blair, Oct. 6: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has given the necessary approval for the purchase of an Ambulance for Long Island from the MPLADS fund following several demands raised by the people of the Island.

Residents of Long Island had earlier informed the Member of Parliament that in absence of an Ambulance, patients of Long Island face tremendous problems in shifting patients to hospital or to Long Island Jetty.

Recently the Director of Health Services had also informed the Member of Parliament about the problems of people of Long Island due to lack of an ambulance in PHC Long Island, after which Member of Parliament has given approval for the purchase of Ambulance from MPLADS fund.

Kuldeep Rai Sharma has expressed hope that an Ambulance will not only bring relief for the patients of Long Island but also help in improving the overall health infrastructure of Long Island.
