Port Blair, Nov. 22: Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust (YBSSCT) with a vision 'Swachhta Hi Seva', organized a cleanliness drive to mark The World Fisheries Day on 21st November 2021 at various places in South Andaman in connection with pan India celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

YBSSCT team in association with Walk for Plastic, Ration Rasheed Foundation, Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, MES Builders Association, and True vision Foundation carried out the cleaning drive from Gandhi Statue, Aberdeen Bazar to Recykal Point, Mohanpura. The drive was initiated by Recykal and PBMC. This drive was graced by Shri. Hari Kallikkat, IAS, ADM, South Andaman, Shri. Dilkush Meena, IAS, AC, South Andaman. It turned out to be a successful venture, as a host of citizens volunteered to engage in cleaning the road, streets, and drainage, at the same time, inspiring a sense of responsibility among the general public.

Another Team of YBSSCT at Hut Bay, Little Andaman had cleaned the seashore area from Machhi Dera to Fisheries Jetty Hut Bay. During this drive paper waste, plastics waste, liquor bottles & beverage cans were collected. The collected trash was gathered at a particular spot and intimated to Hut Bay Panchayat for further action.

The initiative inculcates a sense of responsibility and creates an alternative space that allows for healthy communal growth and environmental sustainability.
