Port Blair, Dec. 22: The president of The Cause Travellers social welfare organisations Navi Mumbai, Rtn Bhal Shekhar Chilana and his wife Namita Dutta are on a 131-days PAN India road trip for the cause of ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS campaign across India  covering 131 cities of all 28 states and 8 UTs. Their mission is to educate and create awareness on the importance of ORGAN DONATION by travelling by road 22500 kms. They target to collect 80,000 pledges by conducting programs for public communities, Rotary clubs, NGOs, hospitals, schools, colleges amongst others.

The two started their journey on 10th December 2021 from Kharghar Navi Mumbai and have been holding these meetings in collaboration with Rotary District 3142 & Rotary club Navi Mumbai Sunrise, MOHAN Foundation, Bharat Petroleum and Morrison Garrage (M G Motor).

In Port Blair, along with the help of Rotary Club of Port Blair & Rotary Club of Port Blair NextGen they participated in an awareness talk was conducted at Naval Children School on 20th December with more than 100 school children, along with the principal Ms. Anitha and coordinator Ms Sandhya and teaching staff. The two also interacted with young minds and to introduce the idea of organ donation to them.

On the 21st December Rtn Bhal Shekhar Chilana and Namita Dutta conducted a session at Fire Brigade Head Quarters, Port Blair where 100 personnel attended and at the Coast Guard District Headquarters, Port Blair for 50 Officers and Defence personnel.

In the evening, a session was organized for the members of Rotary club Port Blair, Rotary Club of Port Blair NextGen, Inner Wheel Club Port Blair which was attended by more than 40 members.

The couple have thanked Mr. Diwakar Moorthy, President, Rotary Club Port Blair and his team— Rtn. Damodaran, Rtn. Abhijeet Agarwal, Rtn. Mandeep Grewal and Rtn. Ms. Jyoshita.

Rtn Dhinakar donated Rs 11,000/- on behalf of both the clubs towards their cause in creating awareness on organ donation.
