Port Blair, Jan 13: A delegation of Andaman Association of Tour Operators led by President Shri. M. Vinod along with Shri. P.S. Vijayan and Shri. Saikat Biswas met Shri. Jitendra Narain, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration today.

The delegation requested the CS to consider re-opening of tourism activities in Andaman Islands following COVID protocols. Shri. M. Vinod appraised CS about the huge revenue loss and unemployment in the tourism Industry due to closure of tourism in Andamans.

Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing and assured to restart tourism as soon as the COVID situation is under control. He briefed the delegation about the control measures taken by A&N Administration to counter the pandemic.

Other issues related to tourism sector including simplification of IV boat survey procedure were also discussed with Chief Secretary. He also lauded the efforts of AATO in promoting tourism in Andamans and assured full cooperation of A&N Administration to scale up tourism activities in A&N Islands.

Shri. M. Vinod has expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary, Shri. Jitendra Narain for meeting the AATO delegation amidst his busy schedule.
