Port Blair, Jan 31: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament has raised the issue of a landslide near Mayabunder District Hospital, which is now posing threat to hospital’s approach road and the Hospital building.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the Member of Parliament mentioned that during his recent visit to North & Middle Andaman, he visited the Mayabunder District Hospital and witnessed that there was a massive landslide in front of the District Hospital.

He mentioned that the landslide happened nearly four months ago but no attempts to repair has been taken up so far. If the landslide area is not repaired, this may also lead to serious accidents in coming days, he said.

Considering the threat to the patients, para-medical staffs and public properties, he requested the Chief Secretary to order the concerned department to immediately repair the landslide area to save the Hospital’s approach road and the RP Hospital building from any kind of damage in the near future.
