Every allotment order must be open for public for objections for seven days: CS
Port Blair, Feb. 11: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain has directed Housing & Estate to ensure that there should be greater speed, transparency and clarity in allotment of Govt. accommodation. People should not be made to wait unnecessarily and there should be no clandestine act in the allotment of quarters. Every allotment order must be open for public for objections for seven days. The Chief Secretary said, “we cannot deprive Govt. Servants of what is their due entitlement”.
It is to mention that the Housing & Estate Section, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Secretariat had allotted various types of Govt. Accommodations under General category through the Automated Allotment of Government Accommodation Application in the last round of allotment on 02/02/2022.
After last round of allotment of Govt. Accommodations, it is noticed that the most of vacant Type-I, Type-II, Type-III and Type-IV quarters located at Nayagaon and Prothrapur areas could not been allotted as no applicant preferring these areas are available for allotment in the seniority list.
All applicants whose names have appeared in the seniority list have been requested to submit their revised willingness for change of preferred area as Nayagaon and Prothrapur so that the vacant quarters at Nayagaon and Prothrapur could be allotted to the needy Govt. servant, in writing specifying Application No., Preferred Area, Quarter No. to the Assistant Secretary (Housing & Estate), Secretariat within 5 days of the publication, failing which, the available vacant quarters might be allotted as per the seniority list without considering their preferences, a press release from H&E, A&N Administration said.
