Port Blair, May 22: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma had recently called on the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) and requested him arrange trips to various forest areas for school students under a new initiative ‘Know Your Jungle’ for execution and recreation. This he said will not only give extensive knowledge about Andaman Flora and Fauna but also keep our children physically fit and mentally active.
He also requested to provide waste woods from Chatham Saw Mill and Betapur Saw Mill to SHG groups and train the members of SHG groups to convert the waste woods into attractive souvenirs.
Sharma also requested the PCCF to establish a Bamboo Park with all available wild and exotic species of Bamboo, found in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
He said that such a park will not only be an excellent place of Tourist Attraction but also will be a great place for organizing education tours for school students.
He also requested the PCCF to introduce Elephant rides in more Islands, which can also become a great Tourist Attraction and help our Tourism Industry.
During the meeting the PCCF assured to do needful regarding these issues.
