Port Blair, July 24: The team of Prayas under the project ‘Access to Justice’ conducted an awareness camp at the  Anganwadi Centre, Collinpur. In spite of the heavy rain and inclement weather about 18 Participants participated which included the Anganwadi Worker and Her Helper.

The Team introduced themselves to gathering and the Organization they belong from. They then spoke about the Childline (1098), its functioning and the support team available with the confidentiality of the Caller.  The Team then spoke about the Pocso Act and its provisions. They were also explained about the Project Access to Justice, its objective and goals. The project has two advocates who are present in the court for any legal aid pertaining to children and their issues. These Legal officers take up the matter on behalf of the children (if permission given by the parents and the Child via signing the Vakalatnama) in coordination with the Concerned Public Prosecutor. The team also has two trained Counselors for all kind of Psycho-Socio Support through Personal and Family Counseling. The team has left their Numbers with the Village Leaders and Anganwadi workers to be contacted if any help is required.
