Port Blair, Aug 12: The team of Police Station Billiground had apprehended a person with 14 kg (approx.) wildlife protected venison meat.

On 10/08/2022, a police team comprising of SI Manoj Lall, HC/316 Bhupender Kumar Singh, PC/1534 M. Sudarshan Rao & PC/685 Gangadharan while on traffic checking duty at Badamnallah picketing point noticed a suspicious vehicle (Omni bearing Registration No. AN-01E-1774), the same had been stopped at barricade and while checking, it was found that a plastic bag containing meat (suspected to be venison meat).

Upon which, the police team had seized the meat (14 Kg approx.) seems to be wildlife protected venison kept in 13 plastic packets and 01 No. Maruti Omni bearing Registration No. AN-01E-1744 alongwith key at the spot under the cover of seizure memo and detained the person namely Prem Prakash Tete S/o Shri Telesfer Tete, 28 yrs R/o Rest Camp, Mayabunder.  Later the detained person along with seized articles had been handed over to Forest Officials of Betapur for further necessary action.
