Port Blair, Sept. 14: The Indira Gandhi National Open University, Regional Centre, Port Blair organized a befitting programme on Hindi Day on 14th September, 2022 to mark the significance of the day and to inspire the use of Hindi language more and more in day-to-day life. On this occasion, the chief guest Dr. H.K. Sharma, Principal, JNRM in his key note address appealed the gathering to use Hindi language in day-to-day government offices, so that it will be a real contribution to the promotion of Hindi in these Islands.
The guest of honour Dr. Vyas Mani Tripathi, HOD, Department of Hindi also spoke on the event and narrated the historical accounts of the Hindi Day celebrations since 1953. Earlier Dr. RVR Murthy, Regional Director, IGNOU welcome the guest on this occasion. The special invitees of this event Dr. Kandimuthu, Assistant Professor (Economics), Dr. K. Venkatesan, HOD, Home Science Department, Dr. Ratna Kushwaha, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, JNRM College, Port Blair, Shri. Hemant Kumar, ANIIDCO, Port Blair also spoke on different aspects of the Hindi day importance.
On this occasion the chief guest DR H. K. Sharma distributed prizes and certificates to the winners of essay writing competition on the topic “Aam Jeevan Mai Hindi ka Mehatva”. Ms. Budhini, Ms. Soma Biswas and Mr. Pradeep the learners of IGNOU have won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively and other participants have been given consolation prizes.
