Port Blair, Sept. 21: In continuation to zero tolerance policy against any kind of crime, PS Aberdeen staff have once again cracked a theft case within few hours and arrested one person.

A theft case was reported at PS Aberdeen that on 11/09/2022 an unknown person had stolen 02 numbers ATM Cards, PAN card, one school bag and cash Rs. 4350 which were kept in the complainant’s car. After the theft of ATM cards, the accused person had also withdrawn Rs. 20,000 from the ATM. Upon this, a FIR vide No. 148/2022 dated 14/09/2022, U/s 379 IPC was registered at PS Aberdeen and investigation was entrusted to SI P.K Jabbar.

Immediately, a team comprising of SI P.K Jabbar (IO), SI Abdul Shakil, HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs S.N Rao, Sandeep Lakra, Sonu Yadav and Shiv Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Insp. K. Joju, SHO PS Aberdeen for search of the unknown accused person and stolen property. The team swung into action at once and working professionally, analyzed the CCTV footages and based on local enquiry, nabbed the accused person namely M. Vijay Kumar, S/o Sh. A Muthu Kumar (18) yrs, R/o New Pahargaon and also recovered cash Rs. 10712. The entire investigation took place under the overall supervision of Sh. Vinay Mathour, DANIPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman. 

The general public is hereby advised to not leave valuable things unattended in car and to not write the PIN number in the ATM card and not to disclose it to anyone as it can be misused.

The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100, 03192-233077 & 03192-232400. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
