Port Blair, Sept. 22: The Indian Coast Guard under the aegis of HQ Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a Maritime Search and Rescue (M-SAR) Workshop for the various stake holders on 21 Sep 22. Deputy Inspector General P Pradeep Kumar, Chief Staff Officer (Operation), CGRHQ (A&N) inaugurated the workshop which saw active participation by multiple organisations, including Department of Fisheries, DSS, INCOIS, CISF, MMD, Disaster Management, Forest, IMD and Health Department.

The workshop was aimed at ‘Providing Efficient SAR Services through Effective Cooperation’ and thus was structured to enhance collaborative approach and collective resolve in ensuring ‘Safer and Secure Seas’. All participants actively contributed during the conduct of the event. There was common consensus that such regular interactions would serve to enhance inter-agency cooperation and pave the way for confidence building between the stake holders. The workshop was immensely beneficial for both     M-SAR service providers as well as the maritime industry.
