Port Blair, Sept. 23: The District Level Development, Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting of South Andaman District was held under the Chairmanship of Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Hon’ble Member of Parliament in the presence of Smti. Pramila Kumari, Adhyaksha Zilla Parishad South Andaman, Smti. U Kavita, Chairperson PBMC and Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman (Member Secretary DISHA Committee).

The officials from all the departments under A&N Administration participated in the meeting and presented the status of implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and UT Schemes being implemented by their department.

Detailed discussion was done about the implementation of various schemes in the South Andaman District. The Adhyaksha Zilla Parishad South Andaman requested the Education and Social Welfare departments to give preference to the Self Help Groups for supply of mid-day meals to schools and dry ration to anganwadi centers. The Hon’ble Member of Parliament enquired about the assistance being provided to the local people through implementation of PMAY (U). The issues of all departments were also discussed in detail. 

The Hon’ble Member of Parliament requested all the departments to put in their best for effective implementation of the schemes so that the benefits of all schemes may reach out to the last mile beneficiaries and subsequently lead to development of the Islands.
