Port Blair, Nov. 22: The CPI (M) has demanded immediate posting of newly promoted 108 Higher Grade Clerks of the Amalgamated Clerical Cadre in the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee said that these HGCs were promoted to the post of Higher Grade Clerk vide Administration’s office order No.2736 dated 19th October, 2022. He said that more than one month has elapsed since their promotion but the authorities concerned could not issue the posting orders of these newly promoted staff.

Shri Ayyappan said that almost all the offices under the Administration are facing shortage of Higher Grade Clerks.  He told the Chief Secretary that this is the first promotion of these newly promoted Higher Grade Clerks in government service and all of them are eagerly waiting to join the promoted post which will make them eligible for a hike in their monthly salary.

Shri Ayyappan requested the Chief Secretary to look into this matter personally and direct the authorities concerned to issue the posting orders of the newly promoted Higher Grade Clerks without any further delay.
