Port Blair, Nov. 25: In order to inculcate the spirit of patriotism and unity among school students, the Department of School Education and Literacy, MoE, GOI is organizing Inter-School Band Competition (ISBC) throughout India. As part of this, the State Level Inter School Band Competition was organised by Samagra Shiksha, UT Mission A & N Islands today at Govt. Boys’ Sr. Sec. School to select the best school band both under Boys and Girls categories.

Altogether 4 teams in Boys and 3 teams in Girls categories have participated in the competition. The competition was judged by eminent Band masters from Navy, Army and Police Departments. In the boys band troop, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Port Blair stood first and Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. School Port Blair and Nirmala Sr. Secondary School stood second and third respectively. In the Girls band troop, Govt. Girls Sr. Secondary School Port Blair stood first and Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Port Blair and VKZPV Port Mout stood second and third respectively.

The Deputy Education Officer, Wimberlygunj, Shri Gyansheel Dubey as chief guest appreciated the artistic endeavours of the students and congratulated the winners of the competition and extended best wishes to the winners to do their best in future so that the UT can represent in Zonal level competitions. He gave away the winning trophies along with cash prize.
