Port Blair, Feb. 3: A review meeting for conducting State Level Mock Disaster Management Exercise (Tatpar-23) in A & N Islands was held today in the Situation Room of Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration to review the Disaster Preparedness of various stakeholders.

Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director, Disaster Management, A&N Administration chaired the meeting with all the stakeholders/Nodal Officers of Forest & Environment, PBMC, District Administration, South Andaman, A&N Police, APWD, Indian Coast Guard (AN). BSNL, A&N Police Fire Services, Civil Aviation, Education, Transport, Shipping Services, Health Services, Civil Supplies, Fisheries, RD & ULBs, PMB, Social Welfare, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Electricity and NDRF for preparation of State Level Mock Disaster Management Exercise ‘Tatpar-2023’ in A & N Islands to be held on Feb.9,2023 by A&N Administration in coordination with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), MHA, New Delhi.

The Director (Disaster Management) has requested all the stakeholders present in the meeting to follow their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the smooth conduct of State Level Mock Disaster Management Exercise (Tatpar-23).

The Asst. Director (Ops.), Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration presented a power point presentation and briefed about mock incident sites, dissemination of warnings, role & responsibilities of stakeholders, evacuation routes for mass evacuation, air dropping of dry food items in coordination with ANC and detailed the Action Plan prepared for the conduct of State Level Mock DM Exercise and also shared with the stakeholders.

This was followed by interactions on micro level planning and response mechanism for Mock DM Exercise with the Officers/Officials of District Administration, South Andaman and A&N Police by the Director, Disaster Management.
