Port Blair, March 17: The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder today requested the Administration to appoint Specialist Doctors from mainland for AV Fistula Treatment for the Dialysis Patients in the Govt. Hospital of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In his letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Halder said that the patients in GB Pant Hospital are facing a lot of hardship due to unavailability of Specialist Doctors.

He added that the patients are undergoing treatment at private hospitals in the mainland to acquire specialized AV Fistula Treatment for Dialysis by spending lakhs of Rupees including medical expenses, flight expenses and food expenses which are unbearable for the poor Islanders.

He mentioned that utilisation of the Dialysis Care treatment of AV Fistula at GB Pant Hospital can be helpful for the Dialysis Patients in Andaman & Nicobar Islands as it is the most preferred method for Dialysis which reduces the risk of Blood clotting and other external infections.

He further requested the Administration to appoint Specialist doctors from mainland having knowledge in AV Fistula Treatment at the GB pant hospital so the patients get relief from this distress and can acquire efficient benefits from this Treatment.
