Member of Parliament Expresses Gratitude to Lt. Governor for Conducting the Competition

Port Blair, March 20: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands for conducting “Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Open Sea Swimming competition 2023” and has also appreciated his sportsman spirit and commendable fitness level for participating in the competition and completing the race.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament extended his heartfelt thanks for his unwavering support and guidance towards the successful conduct of the mega event “Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Open Sea Swimming competition 2023” on 18th March 2023, which was a part of the ongoing celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and hosting of G20 summit in India.

He mentioned that he is pleased to see that the Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands had thoroughly reviewed all the aspects of the event and ensured that it was held as scheduled.

The Member of Parliament mentioned that the enthusiasm displayed by the 191 participants was a testament to the success of the competition and said that that he believes it will go down in the history of these Islands as a memorable event.

“What impressed me the most was your participation in the open sea swimming competition. It is indeed an honour for all of us that you, as Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, for the first time in the history of these Islands, participated in the competition and completed the race up to the finishing point at Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports complex under the Senior Citizen category (60 to 70 yrs),” he added.

He mentioned that the participation of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor has greatly boosted the morale of the participants and generated great enthusiasm among Islanders.

He added that this will serve as a huge inspiration for the youths of these Islands for several years to come. “Your participation has shown that you not only encourage sporting activities but also lead by example,” the MP added.
