Port Blair, March 23: In a joint effort by Forest Training school, Wimberly Gunj and Nayi Manzil, NGO, a programme on topic people biodiversity register was conducted at the auditorium of forest training school, Wimberly Gunj. The flagship programme on the above theme is being spearheaded in every part of the country to promote the understanding of natural resources.

With the same objective, this programme was hosted and more than hundred peoples including Forest officials, trainees and Volunteers of Nayi Manzil participated in the programme. Shri Abdul Majeed, Director of Forest Training Shcool, Wimberly Gunj in his opening speech kick-started the workshop. Later Dr. Meenakshi, briefed about the importance of such programs and focused on educating the masses about the forest resources and its utilisation and also pressed the issues surrounding the illegal poaching.

Smt. Bindu, a school teacher of Govt. Middle School, Kanyapuram also presented her views on the topic. Concluding the event, Shri. P. Abdul Basheer, President, Nayi Manzil spoke about recollecting the old wisdom on natural medicines and on many aspects related to forest which is today the new generation is unaware about. He also lauded the Department of Forest for putting up such a programme and also for associating with Nayi Manzil on this unique mission.
