Port Blair, March 24: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has expressed deep concerns regarding the lack of commercial training centers for sports in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament pointed out that Indian Premier League, Indian Super League, and Pro Kabaddi League have become some of the most popular sports leagues in India, generating huge revenue and offering substantial financial benefits to talented sports persons.

Unfortunately, the benefits of these sports leagues have not yet reached Andaman & Nicobar Islands due to the absence of commercial training centers.

He mentioned that the youths of these Islands are highly talented and have the potential to compete at the national and international level if they are given proper training. “They deserve recognition and opportunities to participate in high-profile leagues, such as Indian Premier League, Indian Super League, and Pro Kabaddi League,” the MP said.

He requested the Lt. Governor to arrange for round the year training programs for the talented youths of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Cricket, Football, and Kabaddi. “It is essential to bring National Level coaches from mainland India to provide the proper guidance and training to our youths. This training will enable them to showcase their talent and bring laurels for our islands,” he added.
