Car Nicobar, May 26: The meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC), also known as DISHA was convened under the Chairmanship of the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma. The meeting held on 25th May 2023 at Car Nicobar focused on assessing the progress of 43 schemes implemented by various departments enlisted under the purview of DDCMC/DISHA.

The Member of Parliament chaired the meeting, which primarily aimed to evaluate the advancement of 42 Central Government schemes dedicated to the development of Nicobar district.

Among the schemes discussed were the National Health Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mid-day Meal Scheme, MNREGA, Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Poshan Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Social Security and Pensions, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, among others.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, senior officers from various departments of Nicobar District and representatives of Tribal Councils. The meeting provided a platform for constructive discussions and assessments.

During the proceedings, the Member of Parliament expressed a strong commitment to the welfare of tribal communities and the overall development of Nicobar District.

Emphasizing the importance of upliftment and progress, the Member of Parliament reiterated the dedication towards the betterment of the tribal people and ensuring their well-being.
