Port Blair, May 28: Along with rest parts of India, the 59th death anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the architect of modern India and the first Prime Minister of India was observed at Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair on Saturday morning at 10.30 a.m.

At the outset, the ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder garlanded the portrait of Pandit. Jawaharlal Nehru and recalled his noble deeds for the betterment of India.

Mr. Halder described Pandit. Nehru as the architect of modern India who laid a strong foundation for independent India. He said that Pandit. Nehru was amongst the tallest leaders of his times in the world who created a place for India in the community of nations.

Floral tributes were also paid by all senior leaders and members of ANTCC, DCC, BCC, City Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and NSUI.
