Port Blair, March 6: On the 06th of March, 2024, the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee held a massive protest demonstration under the leadership and direction of ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder and Chairman Campaign Committee Shri. TSG Bhasker in front of State Bank of India (SBI) Main Branch, Aberdeen Bazaar and Gandhi Statue.
The protest was organized to raise voice against the State Bank of India for supporting the Modi Government's decision to withhold the disclosure of Electoral Bond Donors publicly and to raise the issue of deletion of voters from the Electoral List.
The rally march commenced from the Congress Office, with party leaders and members holding party flags and raising slogans against the BJP Government.
The demonstration also aimed to express dissatisfaction with the State Bank of India's application before the Supreme Court, seeking an extension until June 30, 2024, for the disclosure of Electoral Bonds Donors. Protesters gathered to highlight concerns regarding transparency and accountability in political funding.
Additionally, the protest addressed the instances of discrimination related to the deletion of the minority voters from the Electoral List of the Andaman & Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency 2024. The ANTCC condemns such actions, emphasizing the importance of fair and inclusive electoral processes.
Although, the party leaders addressed the gathered crowds and the general public by shedding light on the issues concerning the people.
