Port Blair, June 23: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in collaboration with the Wadhwani Center for Government Digital Transformation (WGDT) of the Wadhwani Foundation, successfully completed a three-day intensive reskilling program for its leadership and mid-level officers. The training, held from June 19 to 21 focused on cutting-edge technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Computer Vision (CV), Generative AI (GenAI), and Data-Driven Insights for policy transformation, program enhancement, and improved service delivery.

The sessions were attended by approximately 220 officials, including the Chief Secretary, various Secretaries, and Heads of Departments. The training was designed to be highly engaging, with a strong emphasis on practical use cases demonstrating the application of these technologies in government sectors.

Program Highlights

Interactive Sessions: Each session was designed to relate to the participants' work environment, making the learning process highly relevant and engaging.

Technology Decoded: Modern technologies were explained in the context of government operations, focusing on their abilities, capabilities, potential challenges, and nuances with use cases from government.

Idea Generation: Participants worked in groups to brainstorm and come out with ideas on solving problems or for develop new initiatives.

The Chief Secretary and several Secretaries actively participated throughout the sessions, ensuring the effectiveness of the training and focusing on the next steps for implementation. The pro-bono engagement of WGDT, known for their work with various Central Ministries and States, added to the confidence of the A&N Administration in adopting these technologies.

Future Collaborations

Project Discussions: The ideas generated during the brainstorming sessions will be examined by WGDT team from technical feasibility. For ideas found technically feasible, high level solution design document will be prepared and shared with the administration. The A&N administration is committed to converting technically feasible ideas into projectsusing its own tech resources and NIC to benefit the A&N Administration. The support beyond skilling sessions will also be provided by Wadhwani Foundation on probono basis.
