Port Blair, July 26: The Electricity Department is currently facing a shortfall of 6 MW power generation. This shortfall is due to the shutdown of the 5 MW power plant operated by M/s. Sudhir Reddy Gent Set Consortium in order to start new contract, as well as a reduction in power supply from M/s. Express Genset Consortium Pvt. Ltd. (NVVN) hiring power plant from 10 MW to 9 MW. To manage this power deficit through the available power generation, the Electricity Department will exercise rotational load shedding of forty-five minutes (45), if required, on a daily basis as per the schedule given below in Port Blair and South Andaman area.
The below mentioned load shedding schedule is purely tentative and the duration & timing may vary, depending on available power generation and other technical reasons. The schedule will be enforced for next 10 days or till further intimation.
