Port Blair, July 26: The Andaman & Nicobar Fire & Emergency Services successfully conducted a 3-day First Aid Firefighting and Disaster Management (DM) training program from 23rd – 25th July 2024 at the Fire & Emergency Services Head Quarters (HQ). Shri Manjeet Sheoran, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Fire/PTS/PR/DM), graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Chief Guest interacted with the participants, appreciating their dedication and successful completion of the training. He emphasized the importance of such training not only for personal safety but also for the safety of the community at large. The training included live demonstrations of fire extinguishers and their operations, providing hands-on experience to all participants.

The participants were made aware of various activities of Andaman & Nicobar Fire and Emergency Services i.e. Fire Control Room, operational techniques of Water Tender, Rescue Tender & Disaster Management equipment’s i.e. Search & Rescue equipment’s, Chain Saw, Concrete Cutter, Air Lifting Bag, Combi Tools etc.

During the felicitation ceremony, certificates were distributed to 79 participants, which included teachers, civilians, students, hoteliers & medical staff. The comprehensive training aimed to equipping individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to fire emergencies and manage disasters.

This initiative highlights the commitment of the A&N Fire & Emergency Services to enhancing community safety through education and preparedness.
