Port Blair, July 28: Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY, a flagship scheme of the Government of India is the world’s largest health assurance program under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI. This scheme is launched to ensure financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh per family per year against secondary and tertiary hospitalization care. The beneficiaries get an AB-PMJAY Card that is used to avail the service at empanelled hospitals, private or public. This Card is a single document containing details of the beneficiary with nationwide portability.

Presently, 25,140 families (72,257 members) have registered under the AB-PMJAY scheme in this UT and are entitled for cashless treatment of Rs. 5 lakh. The beneficiaries are referred to hospitals at the mainland under AB-PMJAY for the treatment of diseases pertaining to the specialities of Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology etc. which are not available in this UT. Till date, around 1,950 beneficiaries have been referred under the AB-PMJAY Scheme to empanelled hospitals at the mainland from this UT.

Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY has a Central Grievance Redressal Management System (CGRMS), an online portal - https://cgrms.pmjay.gov.in where beneficiaries can register grievances related to the scheme. Further, the Implementing Support Agency (ISA) of Ayushman Bharat –PMJAY, A&N Islands has set up its Office at House No. MB-43, R.P. Road, Vill Dugnabad, Port Blair. The Office is housed with support executives to address queries like PMJAY card eligibility, referral formalities and other information pertaining to the scheme.
