Mayabunder, Aug 2: The Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder, North and Middle Andaman, Shri Ashish Joon conducted an inspection of the NH-4 roadway segment spanning from Panighat to Basantipur accompanied by General Manager, NHIDCL, other officials from NHIDCL, along with Revenue team consisting of Tehsildar, RI & Patwari of Mayabunder Sub Division.

During the visit, the Assistant Commissioner (HQ) inspected various damaged stretches and directed to repair and maintain the work being carried out between Basantipur Forest Section and Panighat. Accordingly, directions were given to NH officials to address and restore the motorability of the stretch, also directed to deploy one more Contractor on this stretch. Officials of NHIDCL were directed to continue the repair work of filling of potholes at Swadesh Nagar & Tugapur. At Nimbudera region, the road conditions needs major repair to make it motorable. He directed that efforts should be undertaken on a war footing to ensure the motorable of the above said stretch.
