Port Blair, Aug 30: The School of Agriculture, IGNOU in collaboration with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) has jointly developed the Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management (DACM) programme. The programme aims to sensitize the farming community on cost management and return maximization and to create awareness on optimal utilization of agricultural resources, enhance the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities of the farming communities. This course will also be benefited for enhance the knowledge and proficiency in agriculture value chain management and agriculture supply chain management. The programme will be advantageous for progressive farmers, urban and rural youth, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, extension workers, NGO personnel/trainers, members of cooperative societies, and self-help groups, among others.

This programme promotes sustainable agricultural practices and helps to manage farm costs, enhancing crop yields, and improving the well-being of farmers and rural communities. The basic qualification needed for joining this course is 10+2 pass out in any discipline and has minimum one-year duration and maximum three-year duration to complete the course.
