Young Talents from Andaman & Nicobar Islands Compete in Prestigious Event

Port Blair, Sept 1: The 37th National Under-7 Chess Championships–2024 began today with great fervour in Mysore, Karnataka. This prestigious event has attracted around 380 young chess enthusiasts from across the country, all vying for top honours in a five-day tournament scheduled from September 1 to 5, 2024.

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are proudly represented by seven promising young chess players—four boys and three girls—who are eager to showcase their skills on the national stage. The participants include R. Medanth of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, M. Lavish from Kamraj School, B. Vignesh, five-year-old V. K. Nuhaan Siddique, K. Hemanshi from Carmel Sr. Sec. School, N. Shreenika from KV 1, and R. Vaishnavi from Khalsa Public School.

The Andaman & Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) extends its best wishes to all the participants, especially the young talents from the islands. We are confident that their dedication and hard work will bring laurels to the Union Territory.
