Pot Blair, Sept. 2: An awareness programme on ‘Women Helpline Scheme and WCD Control Room and its objectives’ was conducted by Women Helpline 181 under the Directorate of Social Welfare at Anganwadi Centre, Ward No.2 Haddo on Aug.31, 2024.

Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (SW), emphasised on the need to work towards a future where the safety and well-being of women and children are non-negotiable priorities. The integrated safety plan will comprise a system in which all women safety initiatives taken up jointly by the Women and child development control room.

The Women Helpline Administrator, Smti Sushma Pandey, briefed about Women and Child Development 24x7 Control Room established at Social Welfare Board, VIP Road, Junglighat with   Toll Free Number 181 for Women and for Children 1098.  Women Helpline 181 under Mission Shakti scheme intends to provide toll free 24×7 immediate and emergency response to women affected by violence.

The Call Operator, Smt. Jenis Kujur, briefed about different types of cases along with the solutions received so far at WCD Control Room. The program was attended by, Anganwadi Worker & Helper, lactating mothers, ASHA Workers, and general public of Ward No. 2.
