Diglipur, Sept. 9: A significant Legal Awareness Camp was successfully organized by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), North& Middle Andaman (N&MA) under the esteemed guidance of Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, N & M Andaman. The event was held at Gram Panchayat Hall in Kishorinagar, Diglipur on Sept. 7, 2024, aimed at educating and empowering the local community on various legal issues.
The camp saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including the chief guest, Shri Subhajit Basu, Hon'ble Additional District & Sessions Judge (ADJ), Mayabunder and the guest of honor, Shri Tarun Kumar Mondal, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Mayabunder. They were joined by the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Kalighat, Smti Banani Biswas, Advocate at CJM Court Mayabunder, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Kishorinagar and the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), N&MA.
In his address, Shri Subhajit Basu emphasized key legal issues affecting the community, focusing on the importance of legal awareness and the avenues available for legal redress. His insightful discussion provided valuable guidance on navigating legal challenges and understanding one’s rights.
Shri Tarun Kumar Mondal, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayabunder, spoke on Lok Adalats and other legal processes, informing the participants about alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. The explanation of Lok Adalats highlighted their role in resolving disputes amicably and efficiently, thereby reducing the burden on the judicial system and providing timely justice to the public.
Other dignitaries also contributed to the discussions, shedding light on various aspects of legal rights and protections, thereby broadening the participants’ understanding of the legal framework and support systems available to them.
The camp was well-received by the attendees, who expressed their appreciation for the informative sessions and the opportunity to engage directly with legal experts.
