Port Blair, Sept. 10: All concerned candidates have been informed that the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, Directorate of Education, Main Campus, Vellanikkara, K.A.U (P.O), Thrissur has informed that the University has decided to reserve 2 seats in all Undergraduate Programmes in all Colleges under the University for the residents of all 8 Union Territories. The reservation scheme will be applicable from the Academic Year 2024-2025.
Further, it has been intimated that the candidates should possess the basic educational qualification as per Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) prospectus of relevant year of admission for considering to the Supernumerary seats allotted for each course. The candidates should also have a valid ICAR score card of ICAR-AEEEA-UG for the relevant year of admission.
The general admission procedure is detailed below:
-The candidates can submit application in the application portal set up by KAU, during the application period which will be announced. All certificate/documents for proving the eligibility criteria for the course applied, as fixed by the University, should be uploaded in the portal.
-The collected applications/certificates/documents will be initially screened by the University to check, if applications meet minimum basic academic requirements prescribed for each course as stated above.
-KAU will review the applications and rank applicants. The scoring will be based on marks in the qualifying examination (Plus Two) as stated above. The index marks for course B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons) Co-operation & Banking, B.Tech Biotechnology and B.Sc. (Hons) Climate Change and Environmental Science, the candidates should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examination recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together are eligible, will be calculated as the sum of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and that for the course of B.Tech (Agri. Engg) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses will be the sum of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying i.e. Plus Two examination. If there is tie in Science/ Mathematics marks, then the marks of English and then the marks of Additional language/second language will be considered.
-KAU will send notification to the Union Territory concerned for furnishing the selected candidates with the nomination letter from authorities. The selected applicants will also be notified of their acceptance through e-mail.
-The candidates will confirm their acceptance of allotted seat by a specific deadline fixed by the University and also physically report for submission of original certificate, payment of fee and enrolment in the University.
-The above 20 seats will have a higher fee of Rs. 1 lakh per semester.
