Diglipur, Sept. 30: To provide a Platform for School Students to showcase their talent in the field of Science Innovation, “Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan” has been launched by the Samagra Shiksha across the country. In the Islands too, the programme is being implemented by the Directorate of Education, covering all the Blocks and Clusters of Schools from Diglipur to the Southernmost place Campbell Bay. Under this National Programme a “Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshini” was conducted today at the Secondary School Laxmipur of Diglipur, where the display of the Science working models by the rural students was applauded by the visitors.

Inaugurating the exhibition, the Principal of Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Sitanagar Shri Balbir Singh appreciated the efforts of the students and asked them to continue and realize their dreams of creating something creative and useful for the Society, using the available resources. He informed that Samagra Shiksha is giving financial support in this direction and the students should not feel any hesitation in undertaking projects of their interest.

The Panchayat Pradhan, Shri Sujan Das, other Public Representatives and the members of the School Management Committee visited the Exhibition and appreciated the students for their work. Expressing their happiness, they hoped that the aim of developing scientific attitude, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking among the students would be achieved through such exhibitions, which facilitate students to work independently without any burden under the guidance of their teachers.

A total of 22 working models were presented by the children in the exhibition. The children's models on renewable energy, organic farming, disaster management preparedness, waste disposal, and health reflect the sensitivity of these rural children. Beautiful art and handicraft items made by the children were also kept for display in the exhibition.

The models of students Sudipt Mistry, Kevin, Priya Mandal, Pallavi Chakraborty, Sanjana Tigga and Susmi Mistry were declared the best and were selected for the next round of competitions.

A large number of villagers also came to see today's exhibition.
