Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 3: In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, Akashwani Sri Vijaya Puram, in collaboration with WITH YOU, a local NGO, organized a general health camp for the staff and sanitary workers of Akashwani. The initiative aimed to honor the hard work and dedication of the sanitary workers, who play a crucial role in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness.
The sanitary workers were felicitated with shawls and certificates as a token of appreciation for their selfless service. A dedicated team of doctors and medical staff from Shyamla Clinic conducted basic health check-ups for all employees, ensuring their well-being.
Ms. V. K. Mariyam Bibi, President of WITH YOU, commended Akashwani Sri Vijaya Puram for prioritizing the health of their workers and stressed the importance of caring for those who work tirelessly to keep our surroundings clean.
Speaking at the event, Shri Raj, a social worker, emphasized the importance of acknowledging and supporting sanitary workers, highlighting their critical role in society. He lauded both Akashwani Sri Vijaya Puram and WITH YOU for their commendable initiative.
Shri Rakesh Chander Lall addressed the gathering, underscoring the significance of Swachhta (cleanliness) and urged citizens to uphold the values of cleanliness and self-discipline, as taught by Mahatma Gandhi.
The health camp successfully served around 40 staff members, providing essential health checks and promoting awareness of the importance of worker welfare.
