Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 13: In a distressing case of matrimonial fraud, SC Ali Harman has been arrested following allegations that he deceived a local woman for money. The complaint, lodged at PS Aberdeen, outlines a series of deceitful interactions that began on the Muzz App, a popular matrimony platform for individuals from Muslim communities.

According to the complainant, the accused befriended her on the app and lured her into a relationship with promises of marriage. The situation escalated during a visit to Port Blair, when he reportedly convinced her family to give him money, citing vague reasons for the urgent need for funds and managed to deceitfully receive an amount of around 3 lakhs Rupees. After leaving the Andaman Islands, Harman allegedly blocked both the complainant and her family on all communication platforms.

The investigation, led by Sub-Inspector Abhishek Haldar and assisted by HC Shiv Nath, both of PS Aberdeen, has uncovered substantial evidence against Harman. Bank transaction confirmed that he received money from the complainant. Further, substantial evidence has been recovered against the accused which corroborates his travel to and stay in A&N Islands.

The accused SC Ali Harman was arrested in Maharashtra and was brought to Port Blair. He was presented before the Hon’ble CJM Court, and he is presently under Judicial Custody Remand.

The entire investigation is being guided by Miss. Anushtha Kalia, IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman and overall supervision of Smt. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
