Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 24: As part of the ongoing Police Commemoration Week 2024, the South Andaman District Police undertook a special outreach initiative to connect with senior citizens and retired government servants residing in the District.

In a gesture of gratitude and care, beat staff from all Police stations under the South Andaman jurisdiction reached out to the elderly members of the community. The officers visited their homes, ensuring their well-being and addressing any concerns they may have. Essential support and assistance were provided to them, reinforcing the Department's commitment to the safety and welfare of its citizens, particularly the vulnerable and retired individuals who have contributed to society.

This initiative not only aimed to ensure their physical and emotional well-being but also to build stronger bonds between the community and the police force, fostering trust and support. As part of the larger celebrations of Police Commemoration Week, these activities reflect the South Andaman Police’s dedication to serve and protect all citizens, especially the elderly who may need additional care and attention. It is learnt that during the interaction, most of the senior citizens and Retired Govt. Servants happily met with the Police officer and put forth their happiness.

This effort of our staff is commendable as our senior citizens and retired government servants have spent their lives in the service of the nation. It is our responsibility to ensure they feel safe and cared for, and this outreach is a small step in that direction.

The South Andaman District Police remains committed to the well-being of all members of the community and will continue to engage in such efforts to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of its residents.
