Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 13: The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has formally addressed a letter to the Chief Engineer, A & N Islands, highlighting the need to repair the damaged water pipelines that have disrupted essential water supply in the villages of Rampur, Karmatang, Mayabunder, Pokadera and Webi in North Andaman.
In his letter, Halder underscored the severe impact the damaged pipeline has had on residents, noting that it has caused significant hardship by limiting access to clean and sufficient water for drinking, cooking, sanitation and other daily needs. This issue, he said, is particularly alarming as it poses critical health and hygiene risks to the affected peoples.
Additionally, he raised concerns about the substantial water wastage caused by the pipeline damage, which, if left unchecked, could worsen potential water scarcity issues as water resources become even more strained.
"Considering the essential nature of the water supply, immediate steps be taken to assess and repair the pipeline," Shri. Halder stated in his appeal.
He requested the Chief Engineer to prioritize this issue and implement prompt solutions to restore water access to the residents of North Andaman.
